An engaging consultation process is imperative to ensure we arrive at instrument specifications that meet both your performance needs and your aesthetic taste. Digital mockups are provided for your approval as well as a detailed specification sheet and cost breakdown. We can go back and forth as many times as necessary until you are completely happy with your instrument’s specifications. This process can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks.

A 50% deposit is required to begin construction of your instrument. The balance, plus+ the cost of shipping, is due 1-week before the instrument is forecast to be ready to be shipped. For international orders, any import fees, tariffs or other associated costs are the responsibility of the client.

You will receive routine updates & photographs of your instrument while in construction. Some updates may be on social media accounts, however, additional updates and photographs can be provided by email to clients who are interested.
Sometimes clients may wish for changes to be made after construction has commenced. While the utmost will be done to accommodate such changes, there may be additional costs if work must be repeated, or if new components need to be sourced/produced. We reserve the right to refuse changes once production of your instrument has started.

Currently, we are using UPS® Standard Shipping as it provides a good balance of delivery speed & affordability. This is currently the lowest cost method due to volume discount. Receiver signatures are required. Other shipping services can be used if clients prefer and in all cases, these costs are billed to the client.
Instruments are currently shipped in an Access Bags & Cases® soft case, and are packed in appropriately padded shipping boxes. No instruments can ship without a case.
For players seeking the ultimate in protection, Calton Fibreglass cases are offered at additional cost.

Our instruments are produced with the finest, hand-selected woods, hardware and electronics. Our materials & components are sourced from trusted suppliers, predominantly in Canada, the United States and Europe. While this does influence the instrument price, it also ensures that they are ready for a lifetime of reliable use, and that they can be setup and adjusted easily.

St. Germaine Guitars will build full custom instruments to meet the needs of clients with unique requirements not otherwise available in a production instrument. This can include acoustic-electric instruments, novel body shapes or string layouts, multiple-neck instruments and pretty much anything you can dream up!
Development of a full custom design requires a 500 USD / 700 CAD non-refundable deposit. Together, we will refine your instrument and arrive at an agreed upon set of specifications with digital mock ups. If you decide to proceed with a full custom instrument, the development fee will be applied fully to the cost of the instrument.
Pricing for full custom instruments starts at 5 000 USD / 6 500 CAD.
Due to the amount of design and templating work required to produce a bespoke instruments, production times are a minimum of 12 months.
